The Government of Canada and each of its provinces has a legal obligation to consult with Métis and other Aboriginal peoples when it contemplates decisions or actions which may harm or impact upon established Aboriginal treaty rights. In this portal, Métis citizens, Government staff, and businesses will be able to develop their understanding of their Duty to Consult obligations in each of the Métis home provinces, and explore information about specific major projects which have consulted with Métis concerning appropriate engagement and accommodation.
